The Organic Career Network (OCN) Internship Program connects aspiring professionals with hands-on learning experiences in organic agriculture. Our paid internships offer opportunities to build practical skills, receive mentorship, and gain exposure to diverse careers in the organic sector—from farming and research to certification, policy, advocacy and much more.

OCN hosts two internship cohorts each year. All interns begin the program at the same time, with end dates set by their host organization.

Small Business Access Program Intern

Spring 2026 Organic Agriculture Program Intern

The Organic Agriculture Program Intern will assist with preparing farmer education materials, refining curriculum, developing resources, and supporting podcast storytelling. The intern will also help strengthen Central Valley farmer networks and contribute to cross-team collaboration. This role is ideal for students interested in organic agriculture, adult education, communications, and community-based nonprofit work.

Protected: Spring 2026 Organic Intern

This internship provides a meaningful opportunity for a student or young professional to gain hands-on experience in organic farming systems, farmer engagement, technical assistance, and community building.

Spring 2026 Organic Certification Research Intern

The intern will focus on the process required for Rabbit Hole Farm Newark to achieve organic certification as an urban farm. This includes researching the necessary steps and assisting the farm directly with filing the required applications and documentation.

Spring 2026 Financial Benchmark Data Intern

Pasa is seeking an intern to support the next round of data collection and analysis for a farm-based research project. The intern will be an active member of Pasa’s research team for the duration of the internship program, and will have the opportunity to attend Pasa events and workshops of interest. The goal of the internship is to collect, organize, and analyze new and existing data from our Financial Benchmark Study which will support future farmer benchmark reports and public reports.

Spring 2026 Organic Intern

The Intern will gain hands-on experience in the organic certification and agriculture industry, work closely with experienced professionals and mentors, and have an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives.

Spring 2026 Organic Farming and Food Sovereignty Intern

The 2026 Organic Farm Intern will join Elderberry Wisdom Farm’s team of Native American and Indigenous staff and interns committed to learning organic farming practices and food systems through classroom education and experiential service learning; support tribal food sovereignty through a combination of technical, cultural, and educational expertise in collaboration with multiple organizations, institutions and agencies; and strengthen awareness of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and how they can help to increase social and economic advancements for Native/Indigenous producers in the rich soils of Oregon’s mid-Willamette Valley.

Spring 2026 Alabama Sustainable Farm Mapping Internship

ASAN is seeking a motivated GIS student intern to lead the development of an interactive digital map highlighting sustainable farms across Alabama. The project will identify and visualize farms practicing various forms of sustainable agriculture—such as organic production, regenerative methods, permaculture, silvopasture, and agroecology—categorized by their primary growing practices.

Spring 2026 Communications & Storytelling Intern

This internship is designed to support mission-driven communications that uplift Oregon’s organic farmers, food businesses, and partners. This internship focuses exclusively on developing storytelling assets and content that strengthen the OOC’s membership drive, consumer education efforts, and grant project impact communications. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit storytelling, narrative development, and community-centered communications within Oregon’s organic food and farming movement.

Spring 2026 Science and Outreach Specialist Internship

This internship is an exciting opportunity for students to engage in meaningful work that increases awareness and education about organic food production. The program gives interns agency in highlighting the environmental and human health benefits of organic practices, supported by scientific research, while fostering collaboration within the broader food system community. Interns may also have the opportunity to work alongside Organic Trade Association (OTA) colleagues on general project management, data analytics and government and regulatory affairs for advocacy.

Spring 2026 Organic Education Intern

The Organic Education Intern will work as part of CFSA’s Education Team, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the organization’s three signature events. This position will primarily focus on supporting the Piedmont Farm Tour, a two-day event featuring 30+ small-scale, sustainable farms across six counties and engaging over 2,000 visitors annually. The Organic Education Intern will also support efforts associated with managing the SETOPP Farmer-to-Farmer Mentorship Program in the Carolinas and reporting for the Organic Commodities & Livestock Conference, including helping with storytelling, data collection, and program evaluation. Other event-related tasks and outreach support may be requested as necessary.

Spring 2026 Storytelling and Podcasting Intern

FOG is seeking a creative and motivated Storytelling & Social Media Intern to support its Fresh Take initiative. This internship offers a unique opportunity to help produce and promote podcast episodes that highlight voices from the organic agriculture community, while also contributing to broader storytelling, resource development, and digital outreach efforts.

These internships will run late January-March 2026.

Winter 2026 Farmer Advocacy Intern

OFA is looking for a self-motivated individual interested in grassroots policy development and organic farming policy and issues. The internship will be a hybrid format, primarily remote but with occasional in-person meetings, as our Policy Director works in Washington, D.C. out of a home office.

Winter 2026 Communications Intern

The OFA is seeking a dynamic and motivated Communications Intern to join our team remotely for an average of 10-15 hours per week for 10 weeks during January-March 2026. This opportunity is designed to support students interested in exploring career pathways in the organic industry through paid internships. OFA is seeking undergraduate or graduate students with majors in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Media Studies, or related fields. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit or agriculture communications and contributing to meaningful projects.
Who is eligible to apply?

OCN internships are open to undergraduate and graduate students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals exploring work in organic agriculture.

Are internships paid?

 Yes. All internships are paid opportunities. Each host organization sets compensation rates.

Can I apply to more than one internship?

Yes. Applicants may apply to multiple positions during the same cycle.

Do I have to attend the cohort sessions?

Yes. All interns are required to attend four virtual sessions, including a final presentation.
