What Grows Next? A Collaborative Dialogue on Strengthening the Organic Workforce

How do we build an organic workforce that reflects the values, needs, and aspirations of our communities? In this interactive session, we invite farmers, educators, service providers, and young professionals to share their experiences, insights, and ideas about what works—and what is missing—when it comes to workforce development in organic agriculture. Part listening session, part collective visioning workshop, this space will center the voices of those navigating the barriers to entering and sustaining careers in organic. Participants will engage in small-group dialogue, contribute to a real-time visual map of career pathways, and reflect on the skills, relationships, and supports that help people stay in the organic movement. This session also introduces the Organic Career Network (OCN) as a national initiative rooted in collaboration and connection, with an invitation for Kentucky-based stakeholders to help shape the future of OCN’s programming and outreach.
